Neil Dowsett

As the founder and CEO of Kensington Finance LP, Neil brings over three decades of legal, financial and property market expertise to the business.

Neil first began providing non-bank lending services in 1991, when helping a client at his law firm who needed a loan after being turned down by the bank. Since then, Neil has founded and successfully-run several finance businesses which have steadily grown over time.

Ultimately, as business expanded and the investment book became larger, these companies outgrew their origins and culminated in the founding of Kensington Finance LP in 2016.

Neil finds great satisfaction in helping borrowers and investors - many of whom have been with him since his early days and across multi-generations. His dedication means that he goes the extra mile to personally oversee every loan and still does site visits to almost every security property himself.

Alongside running Kensington Finance, Neil still practises as a solicitor. Having been partner at SDM Law Limited's predecessor firms from 1992 until 2025, he now remains on as a consultant.
